Resources

The Harm Reduction Program was developed to provide compassionate, practical support for individuals living with substance use disorders. The program connects individuals to treatment and recovery services when they are ready to take that step. Through strong partnerships with Medina County Mental Health & Recovery Board, Medina County Health Department, Alternative Paths, Hope Recovery Community, OhioGuidestone, Wadsworth Community Assessment and Treatment Services, and A New Day Lodi, the Task Force ensures that individuals have access to the resources and guidance needed to begin their journey toward recovery. See below for brief organization summaries and links to their websites.

The Medina County Health & Recovery Board‘s oversees and funds mental health, substance use, and prevention services for county residents. It identifies priority needs, allocates resources, and monitors contracted agencies to ensure accessibility and quality of care for all, regardless of ability to pay.

The Medina County Health Department is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health and well-being of all county residents. It implements public health programs, disease prevention and education, environmental health services, and community partnerships. In support of the Harm Reduction Program, the Health Department provides Naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and other harm reduction supplies, while collaborating closely with local agencies to reduce overdose risk and improve community health outcomes.

Their Wadsworth campus includes a 16-bed men’s residential program and outpatient services for both men and women. Recovering from drug or alcohol addiction is not easy, but it is possible with the help of those who understand. Mental health issues and addiction often coexist, and treating the whole person is the focus at A New Day. A New Day offers outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), group and individual therapy, psychiatric care, case management, and peer support. They provide free transportation for IOP groups and emphasize a whole-person approach to recovery.
